Lena Dunham’s dress, Sofia Vergara and Andy Samberg as Joffrey.

LAST NIGHT, THE Emmy Awards took place, honouring the best in television. Hosted by Seth Meyers, it was a mixed bag with the general consensus being that it was little meh.

Here is what everyone will be talking about on Twitter today.

1. Billy On The Street: Emmy Edition.

Host Seth Meyers and Billy Eichner running around the streets of New York testing punters on their knowledge of the Emmys.

“Miss, you’re a lesbian – are you watching Orange is the New Black?” “I do, but I’m not a lesbian.”

One of the undisputed highlights of the broadcast.

2. Sarah Silverman getting real on the red carpet.

As in, showing off her “liquid pot” to a nervous Guiliana Rancic.

And calling her out for not asking a question.

In his acceptance speech for Outstanding Variety Series, Colbert said, “We want to thank everyone who’s not on this stage who worked on the show. Our writers won last week for Writing in a Variety Series. I’m so proud of those guys — and one woman.”

He then followed up that awkward remark with a half-apology. “Sorry for that, for some reason.”

6. Gwen Stefani mangling the pronunciation of The Colbert Report.

The new “Philomania”.

7. Sofia Vergara spun around on a pedestal and the internet didn’t particularly care for it.

As the Academy president delivered his usual boring spiel, the Modern Family actress was placed on a pedestal in front of him for objectification purposes. The internet did not care for it.

For her part, Vergara thought the negative response to the bit was “ridiculous”.

8. Seth Meyers introducing Amy Poehler as Beyoncé and sending the internet into a tizzy.
